Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what Election Results NG collects when you use the site and why. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Server logs: IP address, browser type and the pages you request, kept for up to 30 days to keep the site secure and working.
- Notifications (if you turn them on): the push address your browser gives us and the areas you follow. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number. You can turn notifications off at any time, which deletes them.
- Visit counts (only if you choose “Continue”): we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. See “Ads, analytics and cookies” below.
Ads, analytics and cookies
We show ads from Google AdSense to pay for running the site, and we use Google Analytics to count visits. Both use cookies and similar technology. Google and its partners use them to show ads, to stop the same ad appearing too often, and to measure how ads perform. Google Analytics uses them to tell new visits from returning ones.
We ask first. The first time you visit, a message at the bottom of the screen explains our cookies. Until you choose “Continue” or “No, thanks”, no ads load and Google Analytics doesn't run.
- If you choose “Continue”, Google may show ads picked for you based on your visits to this and other websites, and Google Analytics counts your visit. We have turned off the Google Analytics features that link visits to Google accounts or use them for advertising.
- If you choose “No, thanks”, you can still use the whole site. Google Analytics doesn't run and your visit isn't counted. You still see ads, but they are not picked for you. Google may still use a cookie to limit how often an ad repeats and to count ads shown.
You can change your answer at any time with “Cookie choice” at the bottom of every page. If you change to “No, thanks”, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from this site. Changing your answer doesn't affect anything that happened before. We store your answer only in your own browser. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google's own consent message asks you about ads instead, and we don't run Google Analytics.
Google is responsible for the data its ads and analytics collect. You can manage the ads Google shows you at My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Apart from these, the site itself uses no cookies or tracking.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the providers that host and run the site, and when the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete data we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
